In Production

Here are the issues and titles of documentaries at different stages of production:

  • No Parking (The Homeless in the city of Delhi) The 1st census of the homeless was conducted in 2001. We started to document the lives of the street people since the winter of 2000. The attitude of the homed and those who have fought to live on the streets, with the Justice system and the politicians all in a rush to build the Metro, the Malls and more recently the 2010 Games. However, some initiatives have been undertaken since to provide shelter… do the homeless opt for these shelters… If not why?? What is the lure of living on the streets… what are the needs for housing…? Why a country like Pakistan have less people living on the streets than in a city like Mumbai or Delhi… (These are some of the questions being asking through this film)
  • This happens only in India: Padharo Mare Desh Re! a feature length documentary on corruption in India. How it is hampered the daily lives of common people across all sections of society. The project was initiated in 1997. More than 250 hours of footage shot and the documentation continues.
  • A Train to Monabhav: Indo-Pak relations. Marriage across the borders. Cultural lives, similaries and differences. The project is shelved since 2002.
  • From Benaulim with Love: the story of  colonialism, racism, caste and religion.. but most of all music. A film set in a little known village of Goa, after six months of research, 60 hours of footage shot on miniDV.
  • Vaishali Sabha: Buddha’s notion of local self government. http://archive.peacemagazine.org/v20n1p15.htm
